Sainte-Flavie

The village of Sainte-Flavie is the doorway of the Gaspésie. Here, take the time to visit the Centre culturel du Vieux Presbytère, which was restored in 1993. On the first floor, you will find an art gallery and exhibitions of works by local and regional artists. At the end of July, this gallery welcomes a guest artist during the Festival Artistes en Fête. Right behind the presbytery, the Grange à dîme is an interpretation center on tithe, a tax paid in harvesting products to the lord who owned the land on which the inhabitants were living. Stop at the Observatoire d’oiseaux du Gros Ruisseau, at the place Clément-Chouinard and place Flavie-Drapeau to observe the St. Lawrence River and its birds as well as the colourful sunsets.

Fishing enthusiasts can also do their favorite sport and fish for smelt on one of the oldest quays of the region. Visit also the Vieux Moulin – Vin de miel, an ancient water mill in which craftsmen make mead. On the first floor, the Musée de la Neufve-France presents Amerindian artefacts. Only a few steps from the Reford Gardens, let yourself be charmed by the parc de la rivière Mitis, by its nature and its magnificent scenery. Visit the site accompanied by a team of naturalists and discover the ecosystems during interactive activities.
