Pointe-à-la-Croix

Pointe-à-la-Croix

If you like fishing, the Restigouche River that crosses this municipality is full of salmon that is waiting to be caught! Bird watchers will enjoy ornithological trails where they will be able to observe more than 100 different bird species. Discover the Jardin Ruisseau-à-Dan, which is hidden in the middle of the Petite rivière du Loup valley. Opened year round, this site proposes several activities like hiking, trout fishing, alpine skiing as well as ATV and snowmobile trails.

You can also visit the Battle of the Restigouche National Historic Site of Canada. It’s an interpretation centre that tells the story of the last sea battle between France and England for the possession of New France. In this centre, you will visit an exhibition of numerous remnants from the underwater archaeological digs made between 1969 and 1972. The inside of the French ship “le Machault” is even recreated, and costumed characters welcome you during summertime.
