The municipality of Sainte-Thérèse-de-Gaspé has about 1,150 inhabitants. The economy of this municipality, which was officially founded in 1930, is mainly based on fishing. In Quebec, Sainte-Thérèse-de-Gaspé is one of the most important fishing villages. The boats you will see berth or head for the open sea will certainly bring back cod, but also snow crab. This is why this village is home to a very important fish transformation factory located not far from the beach. This factory, Gaspé Cured, distributes herring, turbot, scallops and, of course, dried cod.
