The Musée de la Gaspésie presents the largest exhibition ever presented about the first voyage of the explorer Jacques Cartier in 1534. Jacques Cartier, la découverte d'un Nouveau Monde (Jacques Cartier, the Discovery of a New World) will make you relive his long voyage, which ended by the official possession of the country in the name of the King of France.
The museum also presents an exhibition about the naval battle that took place in the Gulf of St. Lawrence during the Second World War. Educational workshops and bilingual guided tours are also offered.
