Gespeg means “the end of the land” in the Micmac language. The Micmac First Nation decided to settle on this territory in the 17th century. Nowadays, Micmac guides and interpreters will make you relive the traditions and way of life of these first inhabitants.
You will feel as if you were back in 1675 and you will have the chance to admire the talent of this community. The Micmac used to exploit the surrounding natural resources to make everything they needed for the everyday life like clothes, food as well as all the daily life objects.
On the site, in addition to the interpretation centre, you will also find a boutique, an artisan workshop and an exhibition about the Gespeg Micmac culture.
