Forillon National Park of Canada is in fact a peninsula that juts out into the sea and marks the end of the Appalachian mountain range… at least on the continent. The scenery is made of cliffs, coves, pebble beaches and capes. In the southern part of the park, you can visit the Grande Grave Heritage Site and in the northern part, you will find the Cap-des-Rosiers lighthouse, which is on the historical register and is known as the highest lighthouse in Canada.
Visitors can also observe a diversified wildlife in the park, like marine birds, whales and seals. At the interpretation centre, large aquariums and exhibition rooms will allow you to learn more about the different marine environments of the park. Several activities can be done depending on the seasons: hiking, wildlife observation, sea cruises, kayaking, diving, horseback riding and biking, to name but a few.
