In 2000, the municipality of Capucins merged with that, larger, of Cap-Chat. However, Capucins kept its name as a village, and this name is used to designate the former territory of the municipality. About 300 inhabitants live in the municipality, which was founded in 1915. Already at that time, it was known for its agricultural lands. The water bodies that run through the region were also important, allowing inhabitants to fish. Still today, many people come here to fish. And during their stay, visitors can enjoy the fauna and flora of the surrounding area.
